After a hugely dissapointing 2013/14 campaign under David Moyes, Manchester United are back with a top four finish under Louis Van Gaal , and it was mainly down to David De Gea.

The spanish international goal keeper pulled off countless amount of heroic saves to win games for United, and without him they surely would of finished a few places back in the league.

However, it is likely that the young spaniard will move on, with Real Madrid likely to sign the young keeper.

If this likely transfer does go ahead, who could replace United’s player of the season?  Well, according to Dwight Yorke, his replacement is already at the club in spanish goal keeper Victor Valdes.

The 33 year old joined United after 12 years as Barcelona’s number 1, and after a year being on the bench and playing for the Under 21s, Dwight Yorke believes he’s ready to step up as number 1.

“Victor Valdes probably thinks he would have a good opportunity.

“He’s got a wealth of experience and has won everything in the game. He will probably be a suitable candidate and fill that gap.”

What do you think United fans? Is Victor Valdes good enough to take over from David De Gea?
